I oftenly find that Black & Decker drills look like toys… this one looks a little better because of the color of the battery pack. And when you hold it up, it’s not very lightweight so you can guess it’s actually a real tool.

It got enough torque for most home improvement jobs you’ll have to do around the house. It will screw and drill for sure.

The Chuck Side

The weakest part of this drill is the chuck. It won’t stay tight, especially on drilling bits that are round. You’ll probably end out like me while drilling into wood… the chuck can’t get tight enough and I have to pull off the bit with pliers… this wouldn’t happen with a better quality tool.

For example, you could spend 40 bucks more on a DeWALT drill and you’ll have more than twice the quality you get here with Black & Decker.

What’s nice is the 30 accessories that come with it. They are fair quality and will do the job they are meant to do. It’s a good startup drill kit if you don’t already have bits.

I’ve read something funny from a friend about this drill. He said that it wasn’t a “Lexus Quality” type, it’s more a “Toyota Quality” type… well, I’m not really sure about this one, I would say it’s more like a “Kia Quality” sort of tool… so you know that it’s ok for the price, it will do the job, but you know as well that it could fail.

What I liked

I liked the 30 accessories. I also liked that this drill can actually do real work. Maybe not contractor type of jobs, but around the house it’s does the trick.

What I didn’t like

The chuck… I think every drill should have the best chuck on it. This one is far away from being a good quality type.

Don’t buy this drill before you read this

Before you buy this drill, you should do like everyone else and take a look at Amazon. They always offer the best price and you even get free shipping to your door. If you are like most people, every time you receive something by mail, it just feel exactly like Christmas! hehe! Anyway, even if you don’t buy from Amazon, it’s a good idea to check out their price so you won’t get ripped off at your local hardware store.
